The Black Paper
Digital sovereignty is not a slogan. It is not a whitepaper. It is the precondition for a free society in the 21st century, and every century that follows. This is the Black Paper.
The turning point is behind us. Digital civilization is not a forecast. It is the ground we already stand on. As autonomous systems and frontier models reshape every layer of human life, one fact has become impossible to ignore: whoever controls compute and data, controls the century.
The intermediaries we were told to trust have failed us. Quietly, and then all at once. What comes next is not another promise from another platform. It is architecture that does not require trust at all.
We are done renting our lives. Our data, our work, our images, our ideas, the ones and zeros that carry who we are — these belong to us. Owning and protecting them takes more than better software. It takes new hardware. New firmware. New energy. A full rebuild of the stack.
Alpha Compute is building it. High-performance, decentralized infrastructure that cannot be compromised. Infrastructure that treats sovereignty and free expression not as privileges we must ask for, but as rights the system itself protects.
We testified. We wrote the bills. We sat through the hearings. The establishment listened politely, and continued to protect the platforms that compromise our security. Rights that depend on someone else’s goodwill are not rights. So we are encoding them into the machines themselves, where no intermediary can revoke them and no lobbyist can reach them.
This is the layer the open internet was always supposed to have. We are finishing the work its founders started — permissionless, uncapturable, and accountable to the people who use it, not the people who surveil it. We are scaling confidential computing and sovereign intelligence so that human creativity, ownership, and safety are guaranteed by math instead of mercy.
Our children will inherit one of two internets. We intend to hand them the right one.
The time is now. Build with us.
